High resolution live imaging

Comet Assay IV is now supplied with a FireWire video camera delivering 3x the resolution of previous models. This makes it possible to use lower power microscope objectives, offering a larger field of view and greater depth of field. This combination greatly improves scoring speed, with more comets per field and less time spent at the controls of the microscope.

Hedgehog counter

For laboratories that record 'hedgehog' comets, the new hedgehog counter will prove an invaluable tool. Hedgehog counts can be integrated into measurement data, ready to export to Excel for reporting and analysis.

Enhanced Security Settings

To prevent access to unauthorised users, password protection has now been added to the Comet Assay IV Configuration Utility, in which administrators can change important system settings. To keep database details secure, the software also includes a new encrypted database connection file format which can only be read by Comet Assay IV.
