Sorcerer and how it works

Using a highly sensitive CCD camera attached to a viewing stand or Petri-viewer, Sorcerer transfers a live video picture of your plate or sample to your computer monitor. Advanced lighting techniques are used to ensure you get the best possible picture. The on-screen image is displayed with an overlay that highlights all the detected colonies, making it easy visualise the plate currently under the viewer even with translucent colonies and substrate.

A single button press triggers the Sorcerer system to perform a count, which is calculated instantly and displayed on-screen or sent directly to an Oracle database or Excel workbook.
