Perceptive Instruments is the leading supplier of image analysis based instruments for the paper industry. Our revolutionary first system, SpeckCheck, was launched in 1991 and it rapidly became the system of choice for the analysis of dirt, residual ink and other contraries in pulp and paper.

Measurement and analysis software for pulp and paper quality

Its natural successor, SpeckCheck 2, is a scanner based system, widely used in mills manufacturing art paper grades, pulp, tissue paper, newsprint, business stationary, coated paper, liner board, printing paper, recycled paper and specialist products such as battery separator paper and filter paper. SpeckCheck 2 provides fast, highly reproducible measurements for quality control and research applications.

SpeckCheck 2 is developed under our quality management system which has gained ISO 9001:2000 and TickIT approval from a UKAS accredited certification body. We take pride in the quality of our products and the ongoing support we provide to our customers.

Also available for paper analysis is our Sorcerer automatic image analysis system. This video based system can be used for both macro and microscopic applications.
